“Just as they could not stop the winds from blowing, nor could they stay apart any longer. They left everything behind, but they were together, fearless and free. They laughed in the sea salt air and shared a final moment on land before setting sail under the luminous blue sky."
and they are right.
Summer sunshine, blue skies and white topped waves, sailing in the Maldives wearing a white, soft Egyptian cotton shirt, sun glasses and just feeling the wind fleeting through my hair and the salty spray on my face... Mistral Patchouli became one of my favourite perfumes...
It is definitely a fragrance for the summer. It has everything that reminds me of summer - fresh, citrusy, grapefruit and star anise and even cheesy, summer pop songs..
Mistral Patchouli opens with a blast of citrus, grapefruit to be exact and star anise. The anise is quite strong. The middle notes are iris, incense and geranium although I struggled to find any of this. And then the patchouli takes over, it's just beautiful. Patchouli brings out a lot of strong sentiments in many- they either love it or hate it. I am of the former. I love patchouli perfumes. The patchouli is not earthy though. It blends in beautifully with the vetiver and benzoin.
The sillage is not bad but I was a little disappointed with the longevity.
It is perfectly unisex. I think this is one perfume that my other half and I will be sharing for a long, long time.
Especially in the summer....sailing in the Maldives...
